Emirates Sunland Group, the property development company behind the Palazzo Versace Resort, has officially launched White Bay, an AED 8 billion master-planned community on the shores of Umm Al Quwain. White Bay will be a resort style residential community built around two man-made islands and along the natural shoreline. The Waterfront villas will have direct access to the beach, while the Parkview villas will overlook the public gardens and parks. Terraced Condominiums, mid-rise apartments and townhouses will also be set amongst the gardens offering views across the Arabian Gulf. The Marina, town centre and harbour will be the focal point at White Bay, and will feature an Artists Colony, hotels and a retirement village to cater to the needs of GCC locals and expatriates alike. A boutique shopping strip along the marina precinct will offer cafes, restaurants, fashion and entertainment. No building within White Bay will rise above 15 storeys to ensure the development is kept to a human scale and complements the natural environment. Umm Al Quwain is well known for its natural beauty and the waters surrounding White Bay are tranquil and clear, making it the perfect destination for water sports such as diving, fishing and sailing. In keeping with the tranquillity of the White Bay community and the relaxed lifestyle of a resort precinct, each residence will be provided with a golf cart to help people move around the village without the need of a car. Mr Soheil Abedian, Managing Director of Emirates Sunland Group says the White Bay project will bring a new standard of mixed use living to the UAE and entire Middle East region. “Most importantly, White Bay will provide a rare coastal destination for weekend retreats that is only a short drive from the hustle and bustle of the city of Dubai. For those who choose White Bay as their permanent residence, it will provide a truly relaxed beach lifestyle with all the facilities that resort living has to offer.” “Imagine waking everyday in a resort precinct, with either a short drive to your place of work, or to enjoy the water activities and the marina precinct complete with the boardwalk and beach.” Emirates Sunland Group is a 50:50 partnership between Dubai based Emirates International Holdings and Australian based Sunland Group. Sunland Group opened the world’s first Palazzo Versace Hotel on Australia’s Gold Coast in 2000, and earlier this year they completed Q1, the world’s tallest residential tower, also on the Gold Coast. As well as White Bay, Emirates Sunland Group are currently developing several other projects in Dubai and the UAE. The world’s second Palazzo Versace Hotel is due to be completed on Dubai’s Creek by 2009. D1, an 80-storey residential/ resort tower is also to be built on Dubai’s Creek, and this will be a sister tower to Q1. |
